View Full Version : KSP8 soundclips

Here's a soundclip I made using my K2600XS and my KSP8. The sound source is simply a KB3 organ ("754 CleanFullDrawbar") run dry through my KSP8. The effect on the KSP8 was Preset 138 Gated LaserVerb. I didn't alter it in any way. I will create some of my own chains and alter some of the factory presets and make some clips of them as time permits. :)

Dude, just from hearing that I can tell that the KSP8 is mind blowing cutting edge effect processor technology.

Awesome sound for pads.

That is THE effects processor to have right now.
Talk about flexible, and the quality is stellar to boot.

Does anyone know how the Mangler compares as far as distortions go?

Compares to what?

Compares to what?

Uh, I'm guessing he means compared to the KSP8...

In that case, the algorithms are identical. :P

So I guess, if I have three K2600's then I have
the equivalent if not more additional processing power
than a single KSP8, no?

Mang that is one expensive item!
Dammit! Now I want one but no doh! :P

I wonder if Jordan used his KSP8 on his latest upcoming cd?

Frank you wouldn't have the 249 DSP algorithms that are used to create over 600 effect presets but 3x K2600 would be massive!

Kurzweilfreak

You would have 12 busses, with 12 PAUs, plus the Aux busses (another 9 PAU's). You would have most of the algorithms, except for the 5.1 surround ones. Of course, you'd also have a second morgage on your house by this time. :P

what is going on!?!? i can't tell what you're playing and what's coming from the effect! can you post a version where you turn the effect on and off so we can hear what it sounds like dry and what it sounds like through that effect? cuz that's just wild and awesome!!

The dry sound is simply a KB3 organ will full drawbars. Played with lots of cool Gsus5 (no thirds) arpeggios up and down really fast. :P

You can test drive the KSP8 at

I guess you mean Gsus4... :P

This thread has resurrected my GAS for the KSP8.
While on tour with David Bowie, Mike Garson often
times does not even change his piano patches, but
rather, changes his KDFX setups. That's it!

The KDFX is limited to 4 PAU's in the fx bus and 3 PAU's in the global fx bus.
The KSP8 has 16 U's (new name for PAU [Processor Allocation Units])
That is powerful.

The only effect I can think of that it doesn't have is a smart harmonizer
I can't wait until the prices drop some more.

Anyway, Garson could play on a fisher price keyboard and sound awesome. That man is a beast.

The file was hosted on Alberto's webspace, but he told me some things got deleted from going over-quota or something like that. Maybe Scrap would host it. I'll ask him.
