If I buy Kurzweil PC88, would I be able to transfer all the sounds from Kurzweil 2500X for instance?
What else can you tell me about this keyboard. Advantages and Disadvantages, Uses....
Thanks

no...it can only be connected via midi to another device (that's why it's called PC) or only using internal sounds or GM sounds..that's why I'm buying a module to use with it...the sounds on pc88 are just not enough...

Hi!!!
Iīm Johannes from Germany. Iīm using the PC88 as my one and only Keyboard lying on my new rotating Key Stand. :)
Connected via MIDI are:
Kurzweil K2500RS
Korg X5DR
Roland JV1010
The PC88 is an relativ old Instrument, but is still has great Key Action and very good Masterkeyboard - Features. I can controll with it my whole Rack. You have 128 Setups, in which you can controll 4 Zones ( 4 different external Modules ). You can do all that you want: Bank Select, Program Changes, Splits, Layers, different Velocities, up to 6 Foot Switches and Controllers.
You have many different Sliders and Switches which you can assign to many Functions ( Volume, Setup/Program Switch, Zone mute, Effects etc. )
I donīt use the internal Sounds, but there are some Pianos, E-Pianos, Strings, Organs, Basses, Harpsichords...only the Basics.
I use this Board since 5 years and I didnīt use and experience all of itīs functions.
The PC88 is very well build ( great metal chassis ).
The only bad thing is the external power adaptor for a Keyboard of itīs class.
I bought this thing for itīs Key Action, for itīs great Masterkeyboard functions and for itīs stability. I love it!!!
Greetings!!!
Johannes
P.S. Because the PC88 is an older Instrument you could get it used for a good price. The newer Model is the Kurzweil PC2X.

Hi @all!!!
No, itīs not Patrickīs Stand. A friend build it for me. I will get a Digital Camera in the next weeks to take some Fotos from my Setup. I will post them here...
I think the PC88 is still a very good Board. The PC2Xīs Chassis is the same and you donīt need more Masterkey-Options.
The only Thing are the Keys: I donīt know if the PC2X has different Keys.

A friend of mine build it for me. Heīs working in a company that sells metal parts. I did only pay the money for the parts and some beer for the work
The Stand isnīt ready yet. I will apply to it a microphone stand and a small music stand...
Letīs rotate!!!
Greetings!!!
Johannes
