Hi all,

Which is the difference between increasing/decreasing the output volume with master volume and KDFX output Mix Level?

Thanks in advance,

Arkaitz.

There's no big difference, it's nearly the same as far as I know.

But you can use KDFX-mix level if your effect has a very hight output level to loser it (or the other way round), and it is saved for every studio. While your master volume only changes when you move the fader. In the ned KDFX-mix level would be a possibility to make your sounds have the same volume level, get it?

Thanks a lot Imax,

It seems very simple. So the maximum output mix level that the K2600 can provide is having the KDFX mix level to 24.0 dB (the maximum I think) and the master volume fader to maximum.

The other day, when I was practicing with a piano patch, I felt that the monitors weren't providing too much volume. Since I wanted more, I increased the mix level to some dBs and the difference was notorious.
Besides, I felt that the sound quality was worsen quite a lot.

I believe that this can be because of the near field monitors and the room itself. I've recently purchased a pair of Event TR6 and even if I haven't used a lot I feel that the ceiling of my room isn't the best since it has a slanting ceiling.

The best way is to adjust your sound using headphones and the volume fader a bit below the maximum. So you have a proper output and still the possibility to boost the volume a bit (with the master fader). If the volume isn't high enough you should first try to increase it at the amplifier or the mixer instead of the kurzweil, because as you said the sound quality will decrease.

The sound distorts the more you turn the KDFX mix level up.
