Is it sane to keep looking?

Ok, I’ve tried some external fx for a great Jens lead tone but haven’t found the one with the perfect feel yet.
Maybe another one with a tube simulator will fit?
Please give ideas….
(I’m not trying a Line6POD because it’s too expensive for me…)

What have you tried so far? I find I get good results with either my Boss BD-2 bluesdriver pedal or my Marshall (orignal - no longer available) Bluesbreaker pedal. But of course it depends on the lead sound, synth and whatever you're plugging it into too!

Well, I will not list everyone ‘cause they are all craps….
I’m using a JD-990 to do this and was hoping that any tube simulator would do the job, Am I wrong :-)

Sometimes tube simulators add warmth and thickness without actually adding any bite, which you'd need for a Jens lead IMO. I'd go for more of a typical overdrive pedal (doesn't need to be anything too extreme) which will cut better. Just my personal take on it, though...
