Hi, I`m thinking about buying this midi controller for my Proteus 1000, I`ll like someones opinion about it. Is is nice to play?, how about the keys?, does it have a screen or something to check for my patches?
thanx

Hi!
I tested it once in a musicstore.
1) Key Action: Not the best, a bit sloppy. Not on the level of a stagepiano.
2) No Display
3) Wheels: Cheap plastic Wheels, not nice to play with
I didn't like it so much, even for the price. I'd look for a Doepfer Controller, they are more expensive, but for the price you get superb quality.

See post about M-Audio's new 88 key piano weighted controller.

We've never had any problems with the Studiologic SL880 that we had in my previous band, but that's more expensive than the 990... I've not been impressed when I've played that. Similarly the SL161 has a nice feel, but the other 61-note controllers they do don't match up.
I'd second the post about the M-Audio one though, looks very good.
