My current case is a SKB slimline case to hold my Roland XV-88. Its a great case but also adds about 20-25lbs to my board. For rehearsals its a bit much to lug my board around 2 times a week.

I would like to know if there are any decent soft cases that I could use for transporting my board to rehearsals, the skb case would be used for gigs.

What soft cases are you guys and gals using?

I also use an SKB-case - I would have needed the slimeline for my Roland A90, but since I have a K2500 the bigger version fits my needs.

I don't think you'll get a leighter case - next step would be a bag, but then it's safer to carry it without anything :-)

The main problem I see with the SKB case is the f*** handle in the middle of the case. I always carry it with another person and we use the handles at the ends (which are okay), but the handle in the middle of the case (where you would carry it when you're alone) isn't usable in my opinion. It's way to thin to hold any weight, so even if you have a leight board and could carry it alone you can't do this because of this handle

I'm using a Ritter RCK755 soft bag, which is fine for protecting my board (K2500X) when carrying the thing to gigs and practice sessions.

A hardcase would make the thing way too heavy, though I always have a friend helping me to carry the board.

I use an SKB slimline for my Roland RS-9.
Mine has a handle on the end as well and wheels so it can be pulled. I only use the handle in the middle to get up and down stairs.

The Kaces keyboard porters are great, some of our best sellers. Rollerblade wheels on them, reinforced sides and bottom, running rails along the bottom for sliding it into and out of your vehicle, pockets for accessories, etc....

If you're using an 88 note slim-line instrument like the PC2X (size-wise), then you'll want the KKP-15KB. For larger instruments like the K2600X and Motif ES8, you'll want the KKP-14KB.

They rock. It'd be a whole lot harder to move my K2600XS without one.

I am using a Kaces 88 with roller wheels for my big-ass Yamaha Motif ES8.

So far so good, no damages. The only nicks and scratches I get
on the board are from drunk patrons who like to rub their belts, watches,
rings and assorted jewelry on the ES8.

I move the board by myself up and down stairs as well. I carry it using the middle handle and also using the wheels when I'm out in the open. My case is a SKB 5817W.

I dont remember the make of one of my old cloth cases but it tore apart from moving my old 61 key JV80. That's half the weight of my XV. I have some no name cloth case that came with one of my boards *(used) it had really hard and thick foam inserts like how the SKB uses. This case is very light and extreemly solid.

If I'm moving a heavy board with the Kaces case will the middle handle support all the weight without ripping?
