I have a pair of BX8's and love them. They sound great and look cool (the blue LED's go well with the display on my K2600). The BX8's have a lot more low end than the smaller BX5's. Happy shopping!!!

I'm using the Spirit Absolute 2 speakers and I really love them.
They work great with a Samson Servo170 amp.

I have the Behringer Truth monitors and for $299-399 for a powered pair of monitors that sound killer, I don't think you can do better. :)

Oh yeah, the Truths also are great for the money.
Don't forget about Alesis's MKII's.

I got a couple of Yamha MSP5s. The pair cost me around US$250 and they are quite nice, although when I do mix down stuff it comes off with more bass on regular speakers.
Just get something self powered if you want to save $ I guess.
