View Full Version : Midi routing

Ok, I need some help to solve a midi chain.
My instruments live are:
Alesis QS 6.1 (1 In, 1 Out/Thru (switchable), 1 Thru)
Korg Triton Le 76 (1 In, 1 Out, 1 Thru)
Roland AX 1 (1 Out).

My needs are:
-playing TLe patches on both QS and Roland AX 1, without any QS sound (two master keyboards, one sound module).
-being able to play standalone patches (no communication).
-being able to change programs ON BOTH BOARDS (so I have the only In on QS occupied :E) from a single switch plugged into TLe (Ax1 will always stay on the same program, because I use it only for lead sections).

The main problem, which is, as usual, about buying new accessories, is the lack of inputs on both TLe and QS. If there were 2 Ins in TLe, I could have plugged the AX 1 directly. If there were 2 in the QS I could have routed into thru the signal (considering that QS doesn't make any sound when I use Triton leads (they're superior in any way :D)).
Is there any 2 In - 1 Thru merger? I know about 2x2 Interfaces, but do they merge the signal as well when unplugged? I don't wanna carry a computer around just to have my strap on controller plugged in!
Any feedback about this problem is appreciated.
Deceit.

M-Audio / Midiman do a simple 2x2 Midi Merge box quite cheap, it's at http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.main&ID=5abc6b1139b57abba7d8 9071b5d7eead
