View Full Version : Novation Xiosynth
Whats the deal with this synth? It says its a MIDI controller and a VA all in one (according to KB Mag).
I'm more interested in the synth functions of it, a cheap but powerful VA is just what i want!

Maybe it's not useful, but see this

But i don't like the Novation things very much...

You should search for a rack.version of the supernova och ordinary nova instead.. good VA:s!

Sorry - but what's so cool about a keyboard with VA and Midi interface???

Sorry, I must have missed something.
I just watched the entire demo and read the specs.
I did not see any mention of VA anywhere.
It looks like a simple USB midi control surface to me.
I have to wonder why companies keep building these little 2 octave things. For my purposes, 2 octaves is useless. Does anyone here record their key tracks using only 2 octaves of keys ? What if you want to do a 3 or 4 octave run ?

Step record it in. The 2 octave keyboard controllers are designed for travelling musicians who want to 'jot down' musical ideas into a sequencer to be acted upon when they get back to their studio.
EDIT: It is a synth of some sort, too - http://www.novationmusic.com/product.asp?id=32&Type=1&bArchive=False
