What do you use?

Right now I'm using a Roland EV5 expression pedal as a volume controller.

Ditto, got 2 of them, one as volume, one as wah / filter sweep. I also have an audio volume pedal (Boss FV50L) which gets some use on occasion.

Yamaha FC-7 here, but I actually never use it.

I'm using a Boss FV-300L expression pedal/stereo volume with my k2500xs. (not highly recommended as I've had several fail to stay mid position)

I bought a behringer FCV100 and it doesn't work with a Kurzweil.
(It appears to be a clone of Yamaha's FC-7)
I use it for my guitar volume although it works as an expression pedal with some gear.

I tried using my Ernie Ball as an expression pedal in the K2500's CC #1 jack to no avail.
(It works as an expression pedal with my Roland/Boss GT-5)

I seen that Jordan uses an Ernie Ball volume pedal for Wah so it is either controlling a Crybaby rack or vast? Which is it?

Rexx: Those freaky Yamaha Expression pedals seem to work only in connection with Yamaha instruments, because it doesn't work properly with my Roland, too. That means: It works, but the pedal sends only two singals: Volume ON and OFF, it's getting more silent, it's the same volume and suddenly... nothing *lol*

I think yamaha uses a non linear pot and the Kurz uses a linear pot or vice versa.

Finding out what mod or configuration JR uses on his Ernie Ball pedal would be good info.

Deceit,
Can the MPM Universal Volume Pedal work as an expression pedal as well?

I *do* use it both with my Triton Le 76 and my Alesis QS 6.1. It is able to control the AMS Pedal and I use it with monster lead and wah patches too. That's what I mean with expression, don't know if there are other functions in the other pedals.

cool. Most volume pedals work as expression pedals too but none have claimed to be universal.
I'll have to check out the MPM Universal Volume Pedal further.

I have Yamaha sy-77 and I got very old audio volume pedal with wah-effect. I have rebuilt it to work as keyboard volume pedal only. So I removed all equipment inside and I let here only the pot and plugged into foot volume hole. It has been working badly. It has either long volume up or long volume down with wires switched. THat's because audio volume pedal uses logarithmic pots, because they work much better with human ears. But if you use normal keyboard volume pedal, you have to use linear pot, which is in the synth transcribed to logaritmic audio out. That means if your pedal is in half, the pot is at the both sides with same value at 50%. I have used 10k linear pot, that means 5k right side,5k leftside. It works fine, however the value could be bigger. If you use small value of pot, you get either not silence or not full volume as you unplug a pedal.
