View Full Version : Hmm.. ok... a little improvised keyboard solo

Here's a little something I improvised for my band's new EP. I wish I had more to post, but we haven't recorded a whole lot that I'd like to share other than what's on this new EP... We've got a full length that we're mostly done writing coming next year though. We're writing a 7-song full-length including a classical piano concerto in the vein of Rachmaninoff that I'm currently writing. :)

Oh, and I guess you might have to click download and then open with whatever program... For some reason, at least for me, it doesn't work on that website.

I have to be honest - I didn't like it. Of course, i'm listening to the entire mix, not just your solo - the guitar sounds almost like someone's sampled some white noise and is playing it back in quavers. The patch that you're using reminds me a great deal of one of the solos on Ayreon's 'Into the Electric Castle' though. I think (and this is my opinion, mind :)) that you should try to be a little more melodic in your solos.

Other than that though, nice job ;)

Yep, you've got fast fingers, no doubt, but the glide doesn't let (me) to listen to the melody good enough... As Grey Loki said, try to be a little more melodic (or harmonic), but if that's your style... there's a person for each style in the world^^

haha... yeah, the mix was pretty bad. We were forced to call that song a demo version and need to re-record it.

I dunno everything sounds kind of just random to me. I would be interested in hearing a different mix though, maybe that would change things

Why did you post it in the first place? Demos are supposed to be snippets that really show off a band's sound.

EDIT: Not an excuse to post a naff track just so you have content.
