Hi,

Just bought through an ebay-like website 2 Memory-cards of both 64mb for my K2500.
I had 2 cards of 16mb so I removed them.
For some reason the 72pin fits, but the K2500 doesn't recognise the memory.
When I turn on the power and press sample it says 1296K (or something like that).

What can I do? Am I doing something wrong?

It's probably just not compatible, I believe they have to be of a specific type. What spec are the ones you bought?

Because they're the 72 pin simms, there SHOULDN'T be a problem - I remember with the 32 pins... You couldn't pair them in 2 megs, 8 megs, and 32 megs... They just wouldn't work in pairs like that...
So what does it read with just one stick??

It's the same for 72 pins. Certain ones can not be paired. For instance a 32meg can not be paired with anything, not even another 32meg.

I also recently got two 64meg simms but they were totally screwed and was ripped off by the seller.

I had standard 2 cards of 16mb in my K2500 so it said sample: 32...
I replaced the 2 cards with the 64mb cards and then the K2500 had no sample at all.
Tried 1 card with 1 old card => sample: 16...

So they really don't work.

luckily the guy who sold me the cards was nice enough to take them back.

What brand should I try?

Try the recommended suppliers on the Kurzweilmusicsystems site. I got a quote from them but shipping was high to UK. Ram itself was reasonable though (at least at one of the vendors), i think you can pick em up for as little as $15 a stick but don't quote me.
