The title explains everything. :)
If you use more than only one browser, take the one you use most of the time.

IE. People seem to hate it but it's never given me any trouble, and Netscape pisses me off (simply because I can't use the scroll wheel thingy on my mouse).

i always use IE because i like the look of it and how it works better...i know they're similar, but i guess i'm just more used to IE...don't see any real need to use netscape

The best browser nowadays is Mozilla (www.mozilla.org): it's W3C compliant, so it will load and display every page that conforms to the W3C standards. IE still uses proprietary features, that's why I don't like it and use it as a "last chance opportunity".
Netscape is based on the Mozilla engine, just some tweaking to it though.
And the mouse scrolling wheel works with Netscape :)

The best is IE
and most of the pages are designed for it
PS we NEED computer area more information here (http://jordanrudess.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=706)

Ah, that's one of the biggest mistakes ever made! Web pages should be accesible to everyone, not only IE users.
Support W3C! \m/ :)

I couldn't vote because you didn't include Mozilla.

Rudess Conspiracy:
This is the General Chat where we can talk about everything. I was asking, because I found out that my homepage is not really made for Opera - so I wanted to know if there are any Opera users anyway. Does anyone know if Jordan uses Opera? Isn't it the standard browser for Mac users?
I've played around with the source code of my homepage, changed this and that and now it also works for let's say 90%. I was just curious.

it used to be Firebird until a few months ago. now it's Firefox.
Firefox or Mozilla for me :)
i dont like Opera very much, because i think there's too much stuff in the window. i used to love it because of the tabs feature, but not Firefox has it and i personally think Firefox is the ultimate browser.

hehe, Jan it isn't directly your fault, but recently, topics are less exciting! at least less than before!

That's because Jordan is currently on tour (don't ask me why that is the reason, but it's always been the case - and I've been a member since 2001).
To those who use other browsers: I've typed in "others", but hit "post topic" instead of submit", so it isn't there... sorry. :)

Isn't (Opera) the standard browser for Mac users?
I haven't done any research on it, but I think most Mac users use either Safari or IE (I use Safari). Well, okay, I did a little research and found this page: http://www.macobserver.com/article/2004/02/10.1.shtml. It indicates (in the last paragraph) that Opera has less than one percent of the Mac market share for browsers compared to Safari and IE (it's not entirely clear whether that's the entire Mac market or just OS X).

I use Safari.
It was the default browser when I installed OS X Panther and has a built in pop up blocker...so it gets my vote straight away.
Does everything I need it to do...tabbed browsing is also fantastic...having favourite folders accessable directly from the favorites bar is also something i really dig.

At work I use IE, as we all run Windows machines. But at home, I'm with salty. Safari is amazing. It chokes on Javascript half the time, but I can live with that. And tabbed browsing... OMG it's wonderful. No more multiple windows when I need to have 2 different webpages up (which is often for me).

yes sure google Chrome is the best browser, when i first downloaded it, my internet was running at a lighting speed, i even checked my speed
http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/
and it was normal too, hitherto i used firefox which chocked my browsing capabilities .
But the only one advantage with firefox is that it has more add ons, which makes things much easier

First choice is Firefox. Second is Opera. Both of which aren't on this pole
Suprised that Safari isn't either, as I think you can get that on windows now...

When I first opened this thread, I was like "why is this dude asking about loser browsers that no one has used in forever like Opera and freaking NETSCAPE?". Then I saw the dates.

Nice blue keyboard you got there, leb.
I've tried chrome but I really didn't like the UI and it didnt seem any faster so I'm back with Firefox which I've been using since around the time this thread started. For a while I was really fed up with it, but a few days ago I discovered that my computer's IDE mode had been switched to PIOS or whatever. Once I switched it back to DMA FF works like I expect it to.
