Heavy Song made on the Fusion

so, my guitarist friend barry had an idea for a song and wanted some help recording it. i told him to come on over and got started with the fusion. so far, this has a stereo pair of guitar tracks recorded with a Line 6 POD XT, then a bunch of fusion sounds: drums, bass, organ, piano, choir, etc etc

today i actually added the shakuhachi and EII Choir from the new hollow sun freepack! and i recently edited my drumset's kick and snare, so they sound a bit more realistic. the drum track is a BIT shaky in minor spots, so i'll need to clean it up later, and the piece is still missing vocals, guitar solo, acoustic guitar, and probably some more extras, but i think the basic tracks are sounding pretty awesome!

again, this is ALL on the fusion recorded straight to my computer, no additional overdubs (all audio on the fusion). and it's not done yet, but i thought some of you might get a kick out of it

Nice sound choise I 'd say, although I think most of the synth stuff needs to be louder cause I can't really hear it cleanly but I can definately tell that almost every melodic idea fits perfectly with the guitar. The flute in the beginning was unexpected but I really liked it. I felt that the double bass untill 3:30 was repeating and didn't fit everywhere, what I found really non fitting though was the thingy around 3:46. Also, the bass could use some compressing (or maybe choose a different one) so it can sound more full IMO, but overal it seems a really tight and strong composition (laking some vocals maybe?). Keep up the good work :wink:

Yep I think the same, just a BIT :lol: louder the synths. Good work nonetheless ;-) I want to hear it with vocals and else!!

yeah, this is just a rough mix, and the song is incomplete. in particular i need to work on the drums--this was just my first take playing the whole song through live, basically. although for the most part, i found the key/synth parts to be generally at the right place in the mix...maybe a tad low now that i listen back. and hopefully we'll find someone to sing on this...

so, yeah, more work definitely needs to be done, but i think it's shaping up quite nicely, especially considering i'm doing everything on the fusion! it's a pretty impressive machine, imo
