Hi Im new here and found this site while trying to solve some Kurzweil K2600 probs I am having. I am an analogue man so be gentle and talk slowly so I can take in any tech talk. Anyway, my problems are with the on board sounds and accessing some of them. It seems as if some of the sounds may be corrupted or maybe muted but if that is the case I cant find an unmute for the life of me. I have noticed that the patches that dont sound in Program mode have an asterisk next to them in the keymap panel is this a clue. The Kurzweil is a model K2600xs if that helps. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards, Cy.

Hi,
patches with asterics are user modified/made. perhaps are patches which requires external samples to be loaded to work properly. If you got your kurzweil as second hand and found those patches, you may simply do an "hard reset" to restore your K2600 to factory settings without any 3rd user patch anymore.

Refer to your owner's manual to know how to do an Hard Reset.

Cheers,
Luca

Cyfix,

Go to your Master mode, and hit the 'more' soft button on the lower right hand corner of the LCD. One of the soft button options at that point will say 'RESET'. Go ahead and do it (assuming you haven't saved sequences or samples into the unit that you'd like to keep). If you run into the (parentesis) around sounds, and they don't play (generally only KB3 sounds), go into your Master Mode again on the main page and set your KB3 channel to the current keyboard channel, and you'll be good to go. Let me know if you have any other issues!
