just bit the bullet and picked up a Demo model Fusion 8HD from Sweetwater over Ebay... Should hopefully be here either thursday or friday. $1125 including 2 day shipping :)
plus, the guitarist in my band just picked up a 6HD (for $699, mind you) @ the Guitar Center Memorial Day sale.
Band practice is going to be a bit more interesting. Who knows, maybe I can eventually say byebye to the laptop onstage.
I'm selling the Keystation Pro-88 later this week to my friend's boss and hopefully can find a buyer for the Trinity Rack, soon.
happy days are here (er at least will be)

my god this thing is amazing. I can honestly see why the guy I bought my OB12 from sold it to buy a 2nd fusion... I haven't even scratched the surface of just listening to the sounds (OS 1.22, and all 7 Hollow Sun banks). I guess in like a week I'll finally be able to get around to programming the thing.
I'm in for the weekend :D
Anyone wanna buy an OB12 or a Motif? Or at least take the Trinity Rack. I haven't turned that thing on in a month. The Keystation should hopefully be gone in the next couple days.

Oh man don't remind me, I have a computing exam in like two weeks. I almost didn't finnish my last proggramming assignment because I wanted to transcribe a Deep Purple solo - Synths are Uni students natural enemies during assignment and exam time.

this thing is so awesome... i spent about 2 hours loading all the Hollow Sun sounds and extra downloadable banks into this thing last night... I haven't even scratched the surface with those yet. But this morning, for the hell of it, I started converting all my old sound fonts that I haven't used in years (the fusion comes with a handy free sample converter). I've so far loaded 274 new percussion patches, and about 500 synth patches (including the full first 3 Proteus Libraries and a bunch of vintage synth samples). All of it... Easy as pie.

That's awesome. Congratulations -- post a link to some music when you get some done -- I'd love to hear it. The one experience I had with the 8HD was bittersweet -- the piano sample was excellent, but there was something wrong with the unit I was playing -- the RAM was bad I'm guessing, because the keyboard would shoot about a 105dB GAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKHHHH through the monitors fairly randomly and scare the bejeezus out of me. I wish I could find one that's working correctly -- I'd be into a 6HD for the heck of it.

actually... unfortunately, it's on it's way back to Sweetwater right now... it was a demo unit, so I'm not completely suprised, but one of the knobs doesn't work right... But sweetwater was so cool about it. They actually sent a Fedex guy to my work to pick it up. They're repairing it with 100% no cost to me (not even shipping, which is unlike any other online store I've EVER dealt with). If they don't have to replace a part, I should have it back early next week, but if they do, it'll be about 7-10 days.
So alas, I am without Fusion again for a few more days.
