Hey guys,
what do you think of the band MUSE?
I got a couple of albums and I like them, especially Alsolution

I think I'd rather listen to Radiohead.
But at least Muse is better than PT.

PT is???
On Muse: This band failed to catch my interest multiple times, at some pt. I'm going to give them another listen so I can have specific reasons as to why they did..

I guess he means Porcupine Tree, who rule, btw.
Muse tend to repeat themselves a lot, but I think many of their songs are very interesting.

i nearly have the same opinion...
except that i won't give them another listen ...
the music, the global sound, the voice, the lyrics, nothing attracts me in Muse's albums

Oh... Porcupine Tree... I listened to em once or twice, couldn't really get into em... Muse had some interesting stuff but I think had certain keyboard & vocal idiosyncracies that killed it for me... can't remember too clearly

me too, I'm not into PT music....
Muse will play a song here in my country so I will try to be there on friday
BTW, I like the combination of heavy and soft riffs in their songs!

I love Muse, especially the songs "Sing for Absolution" and "butterflies and harmonies". Great and innovative songwriting!
"The Small Print" also rocks, tough a rather simple song.

I've come to really like Muse. They have an extraordinarily keyboard- and pianorich sound for a kind of rockish pop band. Their songwriting is just the right amount whacky to tickle me in some strange way, yet still have that 'catchy melody singalong' factor. It's a bit like Mew really, though different in sound.
As for Porcupine Tree, I'm quite a fan of a couple of their songs, but the rest strike me as uninteresting. Their drummer, Gavin Harrison, is absolutely crazy, and I would certainly like to hear some of his chops on their albums, but he seems to stick to that 'quality music and no gimmicks' kind of playing. If anybody's ever seen this guy's Rhythmic Illusions series books, get it! Even though it's not such a must for keyboard players as it would be for drummers, it is quite entertaining and fascinating.

really a band that opened my ears up to a style I have usually always hated. to me muse do the style of cold play and radiohead (both of whom i detest) and give it musicianship and interesting, not watered down song writing
