That's right folks - i'm on a campaign, and it's one that every keyboardist I can think of would probably get behind. It's quite simple, really - endless pots, with LCDs displaying their position. No more massive jumps in cutoff when twiddling between patches, and the like!
I know it's a little more expensive than the traditional pot, but I think the ease of use factor more than makes up for it. What do you guys think?
Anything that increase the level of ease in control, decrease my worries, meanign an increase in performance quality. So youve got one vote in this campaign!

Another idea that I like is not endless pots, but real knobs which don't change the parameter value until you reach it on the knob, so you don't have jumps in values like cut off, etc. and you don't have to worry about numbers on a display, you're forced to used your ears only and aren't influenced by visual things.
I don't know which synth has that but I think it exists...

Endless pots can be cool (I have 6 on my EX5), but the problem is you end up cycling back around to the opposite end of the parameter. If they could be programmed to "stop" when they reach min or max values, then they would be totally sweet. Also they should definitely be changing starting from the "current" value, rather than knob position, but I think the EX does that already.

Alesis ION works like that. I assume the Nordlead 3 does that too but I'm not sure. When you reach the maximum and keep turning the knob, it doesn't jump to minimum... It would be completely absurd, imo.

I've come to think it doesn't - I am quite puzzled by how the knobs work. For example, if you rotate one clockwise, note to yourself it's position and the sound at that particular point, and then rotate through that same spot anti-clockwise, you end up with a different sounding sound.
