Please excuse my ignorance and stupidity, but it's late and I need help urgently.

I just got a Yamaha S90 ES a couple days ago, and I need to record a song on it for a party.
I need help in the following areas:

1. changing the tempo of the given drum rhythms ex. the first one performance mode, wide river. how would i go about changing the tempo of that.

2. recording that drum rhythm as a track, then recording layers of bass, guitar, organ, piano, etc on top of it, so that when i go back to it later i can just access it, press play, and watch it go.

If you don't have the time to explain all this to me, does anyone know of a site that really explains it in detail? Thanks a bunch.

Uhm, I dont believe the S series has a sequencer, aside from that it can PLAY sequences that you load in, but it cant record them itself. That is kind of the whole point of the S series is that they dont have the workstation functions of the Motif, which is what makes them cheaper.

Your best bet is to use a software sequencer to make whatever you want, then load it into the S90 via whatever sort of removable storage media it has (smart card or whatever).

Also, the manual is your friend (do new keyboards not come with manuals any more?).

Omega Monkeys right, you cant recorded on a S90ES, however, if you run it through a computer of any shape or form with something like cubase on it you can use the computer as a sequencer.

The manual is great, take some time and memorize it, it helps!

Would something like Sony Acid Pro or Cakewalk sonar work?
