hey guys
i just watched the Keyboard madness dvd. and bloody hell! is that man a complete genius or what. I was just wondering, he does lots of stuff like uses an expression pedal (or whatever its called. one that rocks back and forward) to do different things on differetn sounds. I was wondering if you can do this sort of thing on the korg triton extreme? If you can assign pedals like that to do different stuff for each program/combination. The only thing ive been able to do so far, is put like a pedal in and change what it does in global mode, but that makes it do that for every sound
any thoughts?
thanks

overall, im also wondering if all that amazing and complex stuff he does is beause of the K2600 or because he has other racks etc linked up to it. i want to know if it is possible on other workstations?
thanks

The assignable pedal inputs can be configured in many ways, expression, data inc etc etc...and can be assigned to different parameters. these are available on all of the workstations..the ins and outs of each i dont know myself, but there are many here who will be able to go into detail for you!

thanks. its just that all i can seem to do with the assignable atm, is change it on global. but i cant do much with that (i only get about 15-20 options) and that means it does that one thing for every program/combi ont he workstation. any more help would be appreciated!

Ok, Im not very familiar with the Korg UI, but here is some general info that might work.
If you CAN only change the pedal function in the global menu, assuming you have enough choices, you SHOULD be able to change the function for each voice/combi by changing the routing of whatever controller source the pedal is assigned to for that voice.
So like (and Imtotally making this up, you will have to adapt this to the Korg UI and what you are trying to do), lets say you set the global exp pedal function to MIDI CC#22. Then whenever you rock the pedal back and forth you will get a range of values sent on that controller #. So you go into your voice edit mode, and set CC#22 say as a modulation source for cutoff frequency. You can go into another voice and set it to control reverb depth or whatever you need.
Like I said, I dont know exactly how it will work on the Korg, but that is the kind of stuff you should be looking into.
Remember though, the manual is your friend!
