I have recently purchased a Studiologic VMK-88 controller and it works fine with my Alesis QSR and Roland VK8m.
BUT...I connected it to a Kurzweil Micro Ensemble (module) today and despite the power to both instruments being off, various lights on the Studiologic came on the moment I connected the MIDI cable running to the Kurzweil.
The only things required to get this result are for the Studiologic to have power connected and connected via MIDI to the Kurzweil. I get the same result whether the Kurzweil is plugged into power or not.
Which one of these boxes is messed up? Any thoughts??
