I have a Yamaha PSR540 that bought it about 5 years ago. I'm getting a new keyboard, so I'm going to sell this one. So far I haven't found anyone online selling it, it's apparently discontinued or something.
What would you pay for this keyboard, along with it's adaptor, pedal, and a soft case? I'm thinking of either getting an estimate at SamAsh and selling it to them or putting it on eBay.

Probably about £250 max.

Maybe in Lollipop Land!

I cant imagine someone paying much more than $200 for something like that. Dont sell it to Sam Ash, you will get had. Just put it on ebay and pray for the best.

This is why I always advise people looking for "starter" gear to go used and to get something "pro". You always lose a LOT on resale buying new (that goes for anything) and since beginner/consumer gear gets cheaper all the time and is less desireable than pro gear, it will retain a lot less value over time. Im guessing you probably spent somewhere close to $500 for this thing. 5 years ago for $500 you could have bought a lot of very nice older workstations. Maybe something like an M1 (not the most modern sounds, but it is a full featured pro level workstation nontheless). Today that M1 would be worth between 300-450 or so. You will be lucky to get half that for the PSR.

Obviously it is too late for you, but others should look on this as a cautionary tale when looking to buy gear. Remember, you ALWAYS get more for your money when buying used. For instance a Fantom X6 is about $2200 or so brand new. For that same price used you can probably get an X8 that is still only a couple years old and probably in very good shape. But you can probably keep it for 5 years and then dump it for $1500. Well if you bought it when it was new for 3k, guess what after 7 years you'll get the same 1500 for it, so you end up paying twice as much for it basically. Something to think about.
