Okay, so now I have my Alesis Fusion 8HD and my Macbook Pro. What am I going to need to hook these two bad boys up? I also want to do some recording of other external gear, such as vocals and guitars., etc. Should I go with a MOTU Traveler or Lite? I'm thinking right now I'm probably just going to use GarageBand 3.0 or maybe Logic Express 7.2 until the Universal version of Digital Performer comes out in a few months. Any thoughts regarding this or should I consider a different direction?

If you're not going to be needing a ton of simultaneous inputs (more than 4 tracks), I would suggest the Presonus Firebox. It's tiny, it's rock solid, 2 mic preamps and 2 line inputs, and it's firewire. It's also pretty cheap, too. Guitar Center normally sells it for $299, but I managed to talk them down to $255. Plus, it's got a midi interface, too (for the Fusion). I don't use Logic, but I imagine that you shouldn't have any problems with it.
I am actually currently using an M-Audio Firewire 410, but I honestly couldn't recommend that (especially for a Mac). The Ableton forums are filled with people with driver and stability issues. Plus, M-Audio didn't follow the IEEE 1394 spec right, so the hot plug/remove ability is non-existant. I don't know what it would do on a Mac, but on a PC, it can create lots of problems if your interface somehow loses power.
