HI!

Im not sure if this topic is supposed to be in gear talk but I was wondering which computer is better to use in a studio... I know already that MAC G5 is the best but I cant afford it.... AMD or P4.... I have many friends/teachers who are professional musician and they say that AMD has some kinda disturbance in recording with AMD.... then they tried with the P4 and there was nothing wrong.... could someone of you give a a link to a forum where they talk about this ?? I use my self Nuendo And Logic Platinum recording program. (Same as my Friend/Teacher Who had the problem)... Thank You... Hope you understand my bad english...

This is pure hogwash made up from technically uninclined users. If you know how to properly set up and configure a PC, you won't have any problems. This is with ANY processor type.

Let's take this a step further. If the AMD platform was unstable, why did Open Labs (http://www.opnlabs.com/products.php) decide to make their integrated PC/MIDI controller based on an AMD CPU? Why aren't thousands of users around the globe complaining about Nuendo 'not working' on the AMD platform?

The only true issue surrounding AMD CPUs is that they require considerable amount of cooling (more than Intels) to keep from overheating. More fans = more noise in the studio enviornment. But this is not an issue for most people.
