Hey Guys,

How good is this intrument? Anyone played on it? I can buy a used one and since a used is almost as expensive as an upgrade for my Trinity to the 6 voice mossboard, this is really interesting. The controllers on that are great too.

Any information?

Semmi,

If you can get a Z1 at a good price then I'd go for it, I love the MOSS sounds, when I had my Triton ProX, I played these sounds most of the time. Its a very expressive instrument, I have played a Z1 a fair bit but instead of buying one I ended up with a Triton with MOSS board. But try it out first, make sure you like the sounds. The controllers are great, especially the XY pad thingy !... :)

I once played on it. First thing I noticed was that cool XY pad! A bit like the controller on the Prophecy, but then flat!

Back then I was impressed by the sounds. Right now I own a prophecy mossboard. Great for the sound, but I cannot tweak the sound in realtime as much as on the prophecy itself. Concluding: You have the board but cannot get the full potential.
Since a second-hand Z1 is almost as expensive as a second hand Prophecy ( ), the Z1 would be more obvious. Only for the polyphonic sounds. Prices for a Z1 are mostly 100 till 150 euro higher.

I agree...very nice controller section.
It is capable of very good VA type analog sounds. It
falls a bit short of the Yamaha VL type acoustic wind
instrument sounds. Very usable though.
