I bought one from ebay about 6 or 7 months ago and I'm still waiting for its repairments to be finished! On the outside it looked quite good but I got the first chills when something was moving inside the unit when you shoke it. I also heard from the guy who is in charge of the repairment at Roland Finland that the unit was in horrible condition on the inside. The guy who sold it must have ate on that poor thing!

I highly doupt that I will ever buy anything from ebay again even though there are still propably people who you can trust.

Good luck with your bids everyone!

you know you're going to say the same thing about your Juno 106 in about 6 months, don't you?

I can never bring myself to sell gear for that reason.

No, actually the Juno never clicked with me. When I got the analog bug, it was one of many on a list of synths that I read about and considered buying. I found an auction that was put up by a guy in the same town, and bought it on impulse (no shipping! heh..). It's cool though, just not something I need to keep. Especially with a JX-8P sitting in the same room.

Oh man, a 106 is WAY cooler than a JX8P. Unless maybe you have the PG-800 too. I would sell the JX instead. Also, the JX I played (a friend had one in his studio until he sold off the whole thing recently) had really shitty action. That one might have been abused in a previous life though. My 3P certainly plays a lot nicer.

I have the PG-800. The action is also pretty nice, although noisy.

I prefer the JX because the oscillators have more options...they can be detuned, and there's the fun sync/cross-mod abilities that make for some really cool sounds. It is also a more versatile sounding synth in general, IMO.

I'm still on the fence on whether I want to keep it or sell to buy another JD. The analog craze in me has died down a bit, and the 6 voice polyphony is starting to sting, especially with pad sounds that have a long release time...

She just fine Liquid, She now lives on the top level of my main stand. She seems to like it here, the neighbors think I play guitar when I fire that puppy up hee hee. Their is a used but nice JP8000 here in town for about $550 if anyone is interested. Its been for sale at the local music store for months.

I miss my Juno 106 a little but I miss my Moog Opus a little more. Im starting to go modern I guess

I have both the JD800 and Juno 106 and I plan to sell my JD800 too. :frown:

I'd like to keep it... It looks so good! But I can do almost the same sounds on my XP80 actually, and I need money for a soundcard, monitors, RAM upgrade, hard drive, etc.

And I'll probably sell it for more than what I paid for it (450 euros).

Oh man, a 106 is WAY cooler than a JX8P. Unless maybe you have the PG-800 too.

Depends on what music you do / what sounds you want.

JX = thicker & richer strings/brass/pads, weird cross-mod stuff, and SYNC.
Juno = snappier envelopes, better for basses and arpeggiated stuff.

The JX-10 (two JX8P's in one synth) has the best key action of all the JX's and Juno's.

How does the SYNC sound on the JX? I'd like to hear it.

Wow ! Another gear transaction. You've been busy !

I'd have to agree, the JD-800 is a great addition to any rig.
I have to admit that when I got mine, I mostly used custom patching to fill the blanks in my gigs (Crazy Styx covers...analog parts, etc) But what I've found, is that the onboard Piano patch really cuts through on stage, and I've started to use it more and more. I've been taking my JD-800 to practice too. Fits into my car without folding down the seats (Can't do that with my RS-9)
Good luck with this and let us know what you buy next.
C.

Yeah I've had too much gear in the last 12 months. I think my total list goes something like...

Casio WK3500
Roland JV-1010
(still have both)

Borrowed a QS6 for several months and then gave it back
Bought a JD-800 and then sold it to Analogkid
Bought a used Trinity from Guitar Center, and resold on Ebay
Bought Juno-106 and reselling now
Bought JX-8P and PG-800, in the process of selling the programmer, and going to sell the keyboard in a month or two.

All in the last year. Ugh.

Anyways I think I'm ready to settle down with a JD-800 and a nice stage piano. That's all me needs. :D

Ahhh, parting isn't always so sweet, no...?

I miss mine, too. I did just buy an XV-5080 and a TRR though -- not the same, admittedly, but cool ROMachines, nonetheless...
