So amongst all the other amazing things about the show last night, DT played w/ a full orchestra and performed 6 degrees and a few awesome others... basically the last 2 hrs. of the set... Thank you Jordan and the rest of DT for a mind blowingly amazing show...
Playing with an orchestra really touched me as I play cello & I absolutely love the combination of the classical & rock worlds...
Damn.... I wish I was there.... hell i wish id seen DT live! DT hasnt even played in Australia to my knowledge.

Was this the recording for the 20th anniversary DVD?
Is the dvd a recording from one gig or a collection of gigs?
Sorry i'm not too familiar with their latest release :P

Well, Budokan was recorded in late April and released in late October.

Anyone knows how well they performed??

They were all completely on top of their musical game... I swear Labrie lost weight since I saw them at gigantour, he looked in better shape, everyone was solid on their parts... the only noticable hickup was early on petrucci's guitar went out very briefly once or twice, other than that, they hit everything pretty much perfect...

For all intents and purposes, they were flawless and LaBrie is back on top of things, what a performance!
I noticed they only did Vacant from TOT, I woulda like to see another live version of some of those other TOT songs, but then again Budokan has nearly everything from TOT. And they didnt do Panic Attack! I love that song... Oh well
Still cant wait till the DVD!

I already wondered about that too. I rechecked a few shows from europe though and I noticed that is was very hard for them to play it live. also in holland. i think thats why they didnt put it in the playlist.
Yeh thats fair enough if its a little tricky. I woulda thought that theyd enjoy the difficultly. But considering its the end of a tour and theyre filming a DVD i totally understand why they didnt play it.
