I've been keeping my eye on the moog page for this for a few weeks now. For that price it looks a lot more appealing then the voyager.

These Moogs are all too expensive for me...unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to put my hands on one of these...ever..
Peace out,

If I'm allowed to take a digicam with me, I promise to take a couple of pictures for you, Axiom.
By the way, this is in my opinion one of the best, if not THE best looking synth I have ever seen. Incredibly cool design!

Couldn't agree more!, looks very very cool....but that name!!!! oh
That's what I call a cool fusion between retro and modern design!

I have several problems with it:
1. How do you fit it in a case? That panel will not fold down.
2. A separate knob for resonance and cutoff would make it twice as good.
3. That name. Boooo.
4. The Bob Moog signature. Yeah it could be a "tribute" to his legacy. But it could also be the remaining guys, who are not Bob Moog (for those who are unaware), trying to mooch off of what that Bob Moog accomplished/created while alive. (RIP)
Oh, this is also their "affordable" price. I could scrounge the money together if I really really wanted one, but honestly, that is not "affordable" for a lot of people. They said they wanted to appeal to the lower end of the market...I think that at 1k they would have been doing fine. The lowest I expect to see it go at stores is 1200, and I would estimate probably more like 1300.
But of course, if someone tossed it my way, I would not refuse.

1) There are some squared cases used for those kind of synths. Look around ;)
2) I couldn't agree anymore
3) ehehe I like it. It reminds me Bart Simpson or the Michelin puppet :P
4) The Bob signature was here because this is the last synth made with his personal enginering and this limited edition was made with that signature.
The price seems quite high for its features but remember:
- It's fully analog
- It's almost all hand made
- Moog is not a big company (like Roland, Yamaha, etc)
- It's Moog :P

Well if he did indeed have something to do with the making of it, then the signature is cool cool cool.
Now excuse me while I remove this damned foot from my mouth...

Hand made? Is this true for all the Moogs? At this day and age!!!? I am no EE expert, so someone please enlighten me, are there any advantages?
Best.

yes, this is true. even if they are a small company, they produce everything 'handmade'.
the advantages are quality and reliability.

Hand made, that makes me want a moog even more! I guess that explains why moogs always cost so much but even the price of the little phatty might be too much for me right now.

That price is for Tribute edition. Moog plans to price the Stage edition below $1000... same price as a used Prodigy ;)

Its true of most Moogs, remember like Luca said they were never a huge company like Roland or Korg. The advantage of hand making an analog synth- It imparts a soul to the instrument. Here is a little piece of Moog history- Roughly the first 500 Mini's were made from the walnut trees that grew on Bob Moogs property in Upstate NY.
On a side note I am only weeks away from pulling the trigger on a Moog Voyager. I will keep everyone posted.
