Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, so first of all, "Hi!"

Secondly, I am a guitarist who wants to record his own stuff. I have a Tascam midi interface for my computer (Windows based) and a cheap keyboard that is midi-capable.

I want to add some cool synth stuff, but it was become painfully obvious to me that I know NOTHING about synthesizers, MIDI, arpeggiators, soft-synths, layers, programming, triggering or any of that stuff! I am a fair keyboard player (thanks to Mom forcing me to take piano lessons as a kid).

I am looking for someone who can point me to a really good synths-101-first-day-of-school-see-Spot-run kind of thing.

Remember I'm a guitarist, so please, no big words.

Thanks,
J

My advice would be to find a synth player and ask him/her. THEN once you have no idea what theyre talking about, BUT remember it. Look it up on Google or on the forums.

But they best way to learn, is to start using a synth.

axelord, I would recommend that you do a search of the forums (especially the Gear Talk section) before making any firm decisions, as this particular question has been done to death - there are hundreds of posts, and i'm sure you'll be able to piece together an answer through a few searches.
