Hi all,

I am using Cubase SX 1.1 for editing and mixing purposses. I have also some Cakewalk plug-ins installed.

Last week I made some changes to one of the audio tracks and I inserted Cakewalk plug-ins through the 'Direct X' menu. The thing is that since then it makes some undesirable noises when playing the track. But, if I change the Cakewalk plug-in and insert a Cubase plug-in it works fine.

Anybody any suggestion?

I've heard that it has to do with latency. How can I minimize it?

Regards,

Arkaitz.

Sounds like there's some kind of problem in the DX - VST wrapper that's creating your noises. They do that sometimes! The problem might well be that you're trying to set it with too low a latency... I don't use Cubase myself, but I do use VST plugins in Cakewalk, and it's a similar story. To get them to work, depending on the wrapper, you may need to *increase* the latency (it *should* compensate for this using pre-delay) to get rid of the clicks. Alternatively you could process the effect onto the track offline, ie "print" it to the track.
