How long did it take for you to learn to read standard notation at a comfortable level?

It depends how often you're doing it and the range of notation you sight read.

I'm a guitarist and taught myself by ear for a long time (as Is usually the case!) but took up classical guitar a couple of years ago and now can sight read well enough.

Obviously if you've been classically trained from day 1 from standard notation then you'll be able to sight read like a madman.

I can read music since I was 8 (15 now) but with the higher notes sometimes I get problems not always, and the basss clef I don't know it too much..!but in general terms you learn quickly just as you learn to read...
