View Full Version : Can a Kurz PC2 do this...?

I'm looking to upgrade from a Roland XP-80 to a PC2, but I need to if using the PC2, one can switch between patches without sound cut-out off of the previous patch.

For example with the XP-80 now, in "Performance-Single" mode, I will have a patch set to each of the 16 channels. I will hit the "part 1" button to play the patch assigned to "part 1". I can hold down the chord on the keyboard with my right hand, and with my left, press "part 2". My chord will still be playing (or sustaining if I've pressed the sustain pedal), but now the next notes I hit are of the patch assigned to "part 2".

This allows me to smoothly transition from patch to patch as I play live. I generally only go through 2 or 3 patches within a song.

Can this be accomplished with the PC2? Keep in mind this may happen rather quickly depending on the tempo of the song.

Thanks in advance.

I believe so....

With the K2X00 series, Kurzweil is the best when it comes to this.

If though he's not working for Kurzweil anymore, but forum member Mike Martin can tell you for sure about this
