View Full Version : To anyone with a keyboard...

I thought of something fun for anyone with a keyboard. Record a small section of a song using your keyboard, where you perform all of the parts yourself. Only need to record about a minute

Use any samples you want
All parts must be performed by you
If you are recording into a midi type program, no quantizing allowed
No cutting and looping (although you can do punch ins)
Drum track must be recorded in one track (no seperate cymbals/drum track)

Here is my example using a minute of The Root of All Evil
http://rapidshare.de/files/14789112/TROAE.zip.html

Note that I don't actually play keyboard and this was the first time in half a year that I've used a keyboard, and I didn't use a metronome, so excuse the huge crap-up in the drums near the end. Also, I only worked out how to play the parts a few seconds before recording them.

Anyone up for it?

Download-session invalid. Please click here.

Possible reasons:

Download-session expired. Direct-links last a few minutes for free users and a few days for premium-users.
You requested this download-session from a different IP than yours. If you use AOL, try a different browser.

Yeah that crap happens to me all the time too with Rapidshare. Don't know why people keep using it, YouSendIt is far superior :)

I agree, but the only place I can upload my stuff is at TAFE, where they've blocked all of the good sites. I'll try uploading with something else. And I have another song I've done too, so I'll upload that aswell.

here was my original one (The Root Of All Evil)

Heres a better attempt of a different song altogether (actually using a metronome)

Sounds like a great idea...I'll see if I get some free time to mess around this week during spring break and chalk something up.

By the way...you guys should try using a file-sharing site that's easier to download from. For example www.hxcmp3.com or www.purevolume.com or something like that.

I think once my server gets up and running, i'll give the members of the JR forum 100Mb of FTP, with a group login. Should hopefully be by the end of the week. More or less.
