So, this interesting idea started on another topic so I thought it will be nice to share with others the instrument changes! Note that + means you ADD a piece, - you sell it/brake it with no fix.

* All my gear was either bought or sold, no broken items....
This is what happens when you serve TWO masters (Keyboards & Guitar).
You end up going from one to the other and waste a lot of money in the process. Looking back at all the gear I've owned, I feel sick at the money I have wasted. I think I had a serious gear problem and think that I still have.... :(
Within the above timeline I have also owned & Sold the following guitars:
1988 Ibanez Radius
1992 Starfield Altair Custom
1993 Patrick Eggle Berlin Plus
1995 Carvin DC400

2003 Ibanez EDR170 which is now my only guitar and heavily modified.

Jesus! How do you actually SMASHED you keyboard? :?: :D
Well first I hit "Start" on the bossa nova drum beat, and then I went medieval on it with a sledgehammer
The Casio MT240 is a pretty tiny keyboard, 4 octave mini-key keyboard.

I was 15 then, and it was the only thing I could pay.............
It costed 130 euros, and I had to tune it with a screwdriver :) :) :)

1995 - Quasimidi Quasar
2002 - Kurzweil K2600X (Yeah, I've got it!!!)

Hmmm, cool thread.
1983(ish) + Howard acoustic piano (looked really nice, i think it was oak or something)
1986(?) + Some Yamaha tiny PSR thing
1988(?) + Casio CZ-1000/-Yamaha PSR
1989 + Roland D-50/-Casio CZ-1000
1993 + Casio CZ-1000 (already had lots of patches for it and found one cheap)
1994(?) + Korg EX-800/Yamaha FB-01 (almost scored an HR-16 in that deal too, oh well)
Ok, up to there all that stuff was bought by my dad, but it's all in my possesion now.
1997 + Mk II Rhodes 73 Stage (oh yeah!)
2000 + Roland Alpha Juno 1
2000 + Yamaha CP-30 electric piano (didnt have the Rhodes with me at this point, paid $100 for it, not bad)
2000 + Roland PK-5 MIDI bass pedals
2001 + Roland GR-700/707 guitar synth
2001 + Roland JX3P w/ PG-200 (probably my favorite at the moment
2001 + Roland PG-1000 programmer (for the D-50)
2002(or maybe late 01) + Roland GR-300 guitar synth
2002 - Yamaha CP-30 (just didnt have the room for it any more, sold it to a friend though for $125!)
2002 + Ensoniq SQ1+
2002 + Ensoniq ASR-X
2003 + Hammond J-112 (nothing to get too excited about, not technically mine, but might as well be)
Future possible additions planned (whenever I get some money)
+ Yamaha SY-99
+ Mini or Micro Moog
+ Oberheim OB-Xa
+ Yamaha CS-80
+ Motif 8
+ Korg Wavestation EX
+ organ module (dont know which one yet)
+ ARP Odyssey or 2600
+ Taurus Pedals
+ a damn sustain pedal for my Rhodes to replace the one that got lost when I moved about 6 years ago
+ tons of other stuff I would love to have. But those are some of the main ones I really want.
How do you guys with the Yamaha SY's like them? I have been kind of lusting after one for a bit, but I've never played one. Im just going off of Chick Corea's usage of them, and their specs/features. I have been getting really into FM lately, but the FB-01 doesnt really hack it. I was thinking about just a DX-7FDII, but then I started looking into the SY series and they seem way more bad-ass, esp the 99.

2002+Yamaha PSR-6 (when i really started playing keyboards)
2002- Yamaha PSR-6 it broke, so we (me and my bandmates) smashed it, heh... i saved the pieces, and they are yet in my closet...
2002+ Casio tonebank casiotone, i don't know, just bought it from my friend because i had no "synth"
2002+ Yamaha DGX200, nothing to say
2003+ Yamaha DX-7 was lying on my friends storehouse, and i loaned it for a while... (not yet returned)
2004+ Korg Triton rack
2004+ Roland JV-1080, which i never got, because of one eBay seller..
Coming: if i had money, i would buy something...
Anyone want to buy DGX200 without a power cord?

Ok, update from my previous post...
2004 + Yamaha TG-300 (seeking those SY sounds, but didnt really get them, not a bad little unit though really, esp for only like 80 bucks or so)/Yamaha TG-77 (FINALLY got that SY action going! Im lovin it, but its gonna take me 10 years to be proficient at programming it!)/Yamaha TX-7 (actually "bought" this before the 77, but it came later, I need to get a midi interface for my pc so I can get some good sounds into it, though there are a few nice ones in it now)
So yeah, my Yamaha collection has exploded. I went from a guy who 2 or 3 years ago didnt think highly of them at all, to now they might be my favorite keyboard maker (at least of the last say, 25 years). They really have some lost or overlooked gems in their history. And damn, the difference between 4 op and 6 op FM is like the difference between Ben Folds and Chick Corea!

Here Goes...a bit long, remember, I've been doing this for 20 years :)
1984 - Moog Concertmate MG-1, Korg Poly 61, Peavy KB-300 amp.
1986 - Sold Concertmate MG-1, Added Sequential Circuits Prophet 600, Roland Cube Amp, Roland JX-3p.
1987 - Sold Prophet 600 and added Korg DSS-1 sampler
1988 - Sold Peavey KB-300, added Peavy rack mount power amp and 2 used TOA monitor wedges for on stage monitoring. Also added Kawai 8ch keyboard mixer and small used ATA 8 space rack, and Furman PL-8 plus power conditioner.
1989 - Added Roland D-50, and DOD 31-band eq. Opened for Warrant with this rig. 10,000+ in attendance. Outdoor gig.
1990 - Sold 8 space rack, acquired 20 space rack case on wheels from a dumpster. Added 2 USS Apex Stands, MX-8 midi patch bay, custom mos-fet 250 watt power amp, Art Mutiverb, and Peavy SP-1 pa cab for on stage monitoring. Keyboard rig is now JX-3p and Korg Poly 61 on one apex stand, Korg DSS-1 and Roland D-50 on other Apex stand with Rack in middle and monitor on top. This is the beginning of the "Loud" keyboard rig era and the shouting of "Turn down the keys please" by many guitarists playing 50 watt half stack rigs (I loved overpowering them !!!).
Recorded the Intuition "Turn it on" CD with this rig. Showcased the CD songs in several large venues.
1991 - Added Kawai K1r to the rack and a volume pedal
1992 - Added EMU Proteus 1 to the rack and anothoer volume pedal. Created a 1/4inch snake for the pedals and a midi snake to simplify setup and teardown. Hired a keyboard tech for 25.00USD per show. (He was making more than me at the time, but I was having more fun with my toys !).
1993 - Sold the 18 space rack, consolidated and got down to a 10 space rack. Still heavy, but smaller. Sold the Korg Poly 61.
1994 - Nothing major happened. Working as a lighting designer for another band, so almost no gigs at all.
1995 - Sold the Korg DSS-1. Sold the Kawai K1r. Bought a Voce Spin module leslie simulator. Used with a blues band. Played "Fleetwood's" owned by Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. He was there that night hanging out.
1996 - got rid of most of the rack and power amp and monitor. Bought a small roland computer speaker monitor for use with another band. Scaled down to only the JX-3p and D-50 with the Proteus 1, using a 2 space skb rack. The other space was occupied by the MX-8. Bought a Quick Lock stand and put the Apex in storage for a while. Opened for Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers with this rig at an outdoor festival.
1997 - No changes to the rig
1998 - Bought a Crate Kb300 for gigs with a much louder band :) Still using the quick lock, but borrowed an Alesis Quadra Synth plus Piano from a singer who wasn't using it. All 3 boards setup on the quick lock and the rack to my right on the amp. Opened for Loverboy and Firehouse with this rig.
1999-2000. - No change to the rig. Gave back the Alesis to my friend.
2001 - Bought a Roland RS-9 (needed a piano in the rig). Sold the D-50...very sad day in my life selling that board. I really loved it. But needed the cash for the RS-9.
2002-2003 Bought a larger rack, 6 space. Threw the Kawai mixer into a dumpster after a gig because it was basically a dead heap of....
2004 - Added the Roland JD-800, Behringer 16 ch rack mount mixer and Roland JV-880 with Vintage Keys snap in. Rig is now almost 100% Roland with the exception of the proteus. I am enjoying this rig the most.
2005 - I will purchase a complete set of replacement keys for the JD-800. It's just not worth fixing the black keys. I do love that board !
Cheers,
Chris

Yeah, still get a lump in my throat thinking about it
But alot of my D-50 sounds ended up on my JV-880 in the Vintage Keys expansion mod, so I was able to save some of the best stuff, particularly "stacatto heaven" :)

Yes I do Jee. They are one of the few things not really for sale. If some one was to offer me a crazy pile of money I would let them go. I got them in a used music store in about 1990 (only the synth and stand)for $400. I picked up the pedels about 5 years later in my "im not playing anymore stage"for about the same. I see them now on Ebay for more than $2000 on average. Funny thing was back in the late 80s when I started to lay nobody wanted Moogs, ARPs, Mellotrons stuff like that and part of me didnt want them either but it was what I could afford and it fit the music I liked. When I quit playing I could hardly give that stuff away. Thats actually why I still have the Juno and the Opus 3.

well damn... I thought that something like that would be the perfect thing to add to my rig... Then again, my rig is way too big as it is. The last week, I have seriously considered trying to figure out how much I can sell all my keyboard gear for so I can get an Oasys. SO much less to carry to a gig.

What the heck is a Korg D-70?
Jeebs, if you want to add some pedals, I would suggest the Roland PK-5. Very rugged, lots of features/options/settings, and you can run the MIDI signal to any synth you might want to (Im sure your Virus or Korg could make some great Taurus-esque sounds, I usually use my old JX-3P or Alpha Juno). I think they usually go for about $300-400 on ebay.

Actually, I'm quite fond of this misunderstood instrument. People constantly bash it because the pianos suck...and they do...but it doesn't take much to tweak a piano sound to your liking.
I paid $1,199 for it (I got a hell of a deal for it) and it's worth every penny. Between my Fusion and Karma, I think I have most of the bases covered.

-1990:Farfisa XXXXXX don't know the model
-1992: Yamaha PSR 600 or something like that.
-1995 Technics KN series
-1996: GEM S3 Turbo.
-1998: Korg Trinity plus
-2001: Yamaha P-80
Still have the last 2! Remarkable is that until the S3 all keyboards were real keyboards, with built-in songs and stuff.
