I'm trying to learn to use Finale from scratch...
I tried to open a midi and my question is how to edit only some parts like the keyboard section.
Any input?Many thanks:smile:

I used Finale until I realised I couldn't write anything prog on it. Now I use Guitar Pro 5, but I'm sure there are other programs that are better for PIANO/KEYBOARD composition.
Can't answer your question, though, sorry.

Sure finale can be used to write prog stuff
Help files will often tell you a lot

Are you sure? I mean, I couldn't even change time signatures in the middle of a song. I don't think there were all the midi sounds too.

the midi sounds have been a problem for me too (like they won't work sometimes), but that should be fixable somehow...
but time signature and tempo and everything can be changed for every single measure

oh... I didn't know that.
Well then, there aren't drums in Finale, are there? That's another thing I need.

Depends on your version of Finale. In the newer Finales, placeing a drum instrument in your score will have a nice midi friendly drum staff in which F is bass drum and A is snare drum, ect.
Finale rocketh.
