Piano lessons

I'm gona study music professionally next year so I need to start taking some piano lessons (my major would be composing for movie-scores) but how fast can I learn it in short time? I'm thinking of taking 2 lessons a week for 3 month with a lot of practicing (2-3h a day). Would that be a good start and how well could I actually practice it on a keyboard after the lessons since I can hardly afford a piano?
I had violin for 2 years and studied dancing professional for 5 years so my musicality should certainly not be a problem.
