i'm wanting to get a decent software for playing new sounds using my computer. i have a few keyboards but i'm getting bored of the sounds. i played with gigasampler a few years ago and fell in love with a few of the sounds. is gigastudio a good software to get? if so i think i will need to get a new sound card because all i have is the generic one that came with my HP computer 2 years ago. any suggestions for that too?

does anyone have gigastudio here? how's the latency from playing to the sound coming out of the speakers? thanks for any response.

I would look at something like Kontact or another soft sampler. You don't have to dedicate a computer to running it and Gigastudio doesn't really have any advantages, unless you absolutely love a sample collection that is Giga only (there are very, very few). Latency will differ from system to system depending on your setup.

PS. You should use gear talk for gear related questions

EDIT: Actually, Kontact WILL read Giga format.
