Me and my guitar-friend has covered a few Petrucci/Rudess-songs from their album "An evening with John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess". These recordings were made when we were a warm up band for another band, and we were VEERY nervous, so we didn't perform our best. The beginning of "Fife & Drum" is a theme from a Pain of Salvation-song, I think. As I said: We were very nervous, and we are very unsteady and out-of-beat.

Check the links under. The ones I laid out were inactive!!

I've only had a chance to listen to Fife & Dum (dang, that download site is slow), and I think you've basically got the notes down, but you (and I mean the guitar more so than the keys - the keys are essentially right on) need to play with more authority, because right now, even when the notes are right, it often sounds very tentative. I realize that's a confidence thing, but that's what practise is for. ;)

Heh... The reason is that I really didn't practice it long enough before we played it, so I didn't have it in my fingers (especially the fast melodies between the themes), but thanks for the tip! I'll get great use for it! And about the guitar, he was even more nervous than me! He usually plays it better than me, but he freaked out by the crowd (400 people!!), so he didn't perform his best! ;)

Both songs are okey, and you´re playing is quite good! But you hear that you are nevous, but the medicin is, as you mentioned, to pratice a lot before so it´s really in your fingers! And keep on perfoming live, it´s great pratice and great fun!

Thanks for the reply, stacc! We're working on another song from their album now (Furia Taurina) but, we're praticing a lot on the two other songs too, to make them stick! We're performing at a release-party for a local rockstar 1. february, and i'll see if we could get a live recording from it.

Hi Robert! Like the others have said; pretty good playing, but some more practice and performances will work miracles:biggrin:
Just curious about which band you were warming up for? And the other band you mentioned about playing 1. february?

Good to see there are other Norwegians around here! Well, the first band was a student's band from Staffeldsgate, a school in Olso. They call themselves "Little Red Riding Hood". Among others, Håvard Træthaug plays there. And the other "band", is Anette Vedvik. Check out her homesite: www.anettev.com

Unfortunately, the gig was cancelled,. First we couldn't get in, because we're to young (17, and the club restrics are 20), and then we found out there was a problem getting a piano there!

Thanks for your reply, by the way!
