Hi,
Im sorry if this sounds horrible or arrogant please forgive me.
why is everyone trying to copy Jens i mean his lead tones, the Morley Jd-10 distortion pedal? and its simply stupid.
Jens never copied anyone he had his own creative way but now kids are copying him and why? .
I mean for leads i use Roland Jupiter 6 and now i will get a Korg Polysix not because Jens used it but because it looks sexy and sounds wicked, mind blowing and it suites my style i love it.
try to have your own setup.

*shakes head*
Have you ever considered that maybe someone WANT'S his tone because it sounds cool? Or maybe they enjoy practicing a lick he does and want's it to sound the exact same?
I know someone that bought the pedal and they bought it not because of Johanssen but because they don't have an external pedal for distortion and they snagged it for a good deal.
BTW: I'll keep that last post you just made in mind the next time you request another lead sound.
Be careful of accusitive contradictions big guy - they're bound to make you look stupid.

Even tho there's nothing "wrong" in all the stuff this guy has posted in this, and other forums like Jens' and Guillory's, why won't someone still be a good boy and ban his ASS.
Why? Oh c'mon. I'm surprised his rejoining with a different name after the first ban was tolerated in the first place.
Bad day? A bit, yeah.
Been thinking the same thing each time this guy posts? Yep.

I getting scared now... , why was he banned ?
I must admit its a bit strange asking so desperately to the point of rudness for a Jens Johansson Lead patch, owns a JD10 pedal, wants a Polysix, Probably has a deposit on a JV1080 and no doubt dream of Matrix 12's.(
and he says 'try to find your own setups' - Weird Stuff....

I was urging for a Jens Johansson Lead tone before because so i can change the tone a bit to fit in a typical heavy metal band because i use the amps distortion not the Jd-10.
What i was trying to say is that people dont want to be themselves they wanna be someone else.
if you guys don't like me on the JR just say it, why say im trying to be a big man when im not like Enigma always shut me off.

NOBODY has a right to say to you that they don't want you on this forum, but some of your posts are contradictory in the way they are written and you also come across as some kind of keyboard expert (not that anybody has heard you play!)with the advice you give. All this just rubs people up the wrong way man, many of us here have been playing keyboards a very long time(Me personally 22 years), we know what sounds we like, we know what gear we like and we all have our own taste's in music, to be told that we should get our own musical identities(Which in short is what you basically said) comes across as an insult because in my book, everybody here already has their own identities, Any musician will tell you that its alright to want the same gear and sounds as your hero's, Do you think Jordan wanted a minimoog from a young age because it looked cool, NO, its because he saw Keith Emerson ripping it up on one and wanted to be and sound like his hero, Nothing wrong in that. If you want to be taken seriously on this board its best that you make sure that you're post's do not offend anybody and if you want to give advice, make sure its to help and not to belittle. There are a hell of a lot of capable musicians here who deserve a little more respect than you give them. Saying all that, hope you continue to post here and be part of this cool forum... :D

Okay, I'll play this game with you.
Here it goes:
"Hi,"
Hey man.
"Im sorry if this sounds horrible or arrogant please forgive me."
Horrible and Arrogant I can stand. Insulting others either specifically or in general is against the rules.
"why is everyone trying to copy Jens i mean his lead tones, the Morley Jd-10 distortion pedal?"
Duh - Maybe they want that sound to add to their pallett? GOD FORBID I USE A FUCKING PIANO SOUND... does that make me unoriginal?
" and its simply stupid."
As far as I'm concerned - This is arrogant and conceited and insulting.
We've talked about this before, and sentences like this only make ONE person stupid. Usually it's the person saying it. I wish I could take it as an opinion, but you state it as FACT. Like saying George W Bush is a fucking GENIUS!! If I said I THINK he's a Genius, that's an opinion, but I believe we had this discussion before as well.
"Jens never copied anyone he had his own creative way..."
Bullshit. He had the same creative way as EVERYONE ELSE did, read his Bio on his site. Check out his Influences. You know what those are, Influences... Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Oh, and there's that factual structuring again. Forgetting that whole "I think" part makes you look really silly dude, as well as arrogant, and plain WRONG.
" but now kids are copying him and why? ."
Why not? And in the end, do you REALLY think he gives two shits? Does ANYONE? Also, read above.
"I mean for leads i use Roland Jupiter 6 and now i will get a Korg Polysix not because Jens used it but because it looks sexy and sounds wicked, mind blowing and it suites my style i love it."
Cool, that's fine.
"try to have your own setup."
That's what's NOT fine.
You're telling whoever reads this as :
A - You're an original keyboard player and everyone else isn't
B - That YOU know better that ME what's best for ME
It seems slightly arrogant to me, and I don't have a tolerance for that shit. Until you at least show you can play, or even are HALF serious about this, who in their right mind is going to take your advice ANYWAY?
You know why JR has so many followers? Because not only can he PLAY but he's doesn't act like he knows everything. Goddamn he knows a hell of a lot more then I do, but he doesn't act on it. He doesn't tell me how I should get a keyboard setup, unless I ask.
Which brings me to your next post:
"I was urging for a Jens Johansson Lead tone before because so i can change the tone a bit to fit in a typical heavy metal band because i use the amps distortion not the Jd-10. "
If there were 2 of you, I'd imagine the OTHER you would respond something like this:
why you not use your own tone and not be like Jens but my setup is the best i want the kurzweil JR has he doesnt use the Jd-10 and your just trying to copy that.
you should be more original
And anyone that has read HALF the shit you've posted knows I'm at least somewhat accurate. The point?
I'll leave that to the other posters.
"What i was trying to say is that people dont want to be themselves they wanna be someone else. "
No, they want to SOUND like someone else. Do you REALLY think that if I use JR's lead, my hair's going to fall out of my head, I'll lose some weight, and suddenly BECOME JR? Hell no, and I'm happy for it. I want to be me, but sometimes it's nice to have his sound too.
You want to talk about sounds, then learn to program your OWN instead of harassing people here and then accusing them of not being original. Or should I bring up THAT thread to?
"if you guys don't like me on the JR just say it,"
I have no problem admitting I don't like you, but you're allowed to be here just as much as anyone else. But screw around with others, AFTER you've been banned already and CAME BACK, and after WARNINGS, I think we've been pretty easy on you.
" why say im trying to be a big man when im not like Enigma always shut me off."
If I read this the way I think I read it, so help me god you have 1 post to try and think of a good reason to let you stay.
We've given you warnings, we've let you back in after banning your ass before. We've been lean towards you, and there've been a couple occasions where I've ignored a post hoping you intended better.
There was good talk about banning you before you had a chance to post again, but someone talked me out of it, and this is how you spend your SECOND chance?
What about it is so hard to understand?
Here's the last step:
If you mess up one more time, you insult anyone, you even THINK about stepping out of line again, AFTER YOU'VE BEEN FUCKING TOLD, you will not exist on this board anymore. We WILL ban you, and it will be a permanent IP ban. You sign up again under a different IP, and we'll know it's you. It's impossible to mistake you for anyone else, and you Internet Service Provider will be contacted, and it's possible from there that we could choose to take legal action.
I hope you've read every single fucking word... and if you missed one, go back and read the whole thing again. You mess up ONCE, and you'll never be allowed back. Period.
Do you understand?
Oh, and real quick:
"NOBODY has a right to say to you that they don't want you on this forum..."
I beg to differ. If someone besides Scrap, Salty, Dani, JR or myself said "you're not allowed on this forum" that's not their place, but that's not the sentence in question. We can all tell each other that we don't like this and don't want that, etc... As long as it's not breaking any rules, which is why this place is usually a cool place to hang out.
Just wanted to clarify that.
As for the rest of your post Axe, I TOTALLY agree. Thanks for putting that in a way that is more polite then I have the patience for :)

Wise words my man.
Though, now I feel a little intimidated with your 22 years glaring down upon my 4.
Plus, it would have been nice if I was actually serious about music in those first 3. Oh, how I kick myself for that.

Maybe you have red all my posts regarding Jens'Lead sound and you chould think im a bit oppressive on this matter, but i simply like it..i simply love how does it sound.
I perfectlyKNOW that i will not never have a lead like the Jens one and this made my desire to build it more stronger..stronger and stronger..like the thing you can't have..is this stupid? maybe, but i dont open posts to say people you are stupid, im cool..
Sorry if i hurted you asking all this time for Jens, it will be better if i ask and find "kids", that want to help me and want to be helped by me, anywhere..
In love Claudio

WHOA! That post scared the living daylights out of me! :o
I'm gonna step out on a limb here and say that Jens' tone is widely accepted as being badass. Of course not *everybody* digs it. It comes down to personal taste. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with trying to emulate a particular tone or playing style that you like... especially if you can take it, understand it, and try to make something new out of it. More power to you! What I've found over the years is that you often stumble upon something cool along the way that takes you into another direction.
Ok. I'm done.
Peace,
m@
Perhaps you often copy someone. But when you have played another ones style you'll sonn or later chang it because some parts you like to play in a differnet way, perhaps there are some parts you can play, so in the end you have made an own style out of it. And the more styles you have played the more experiences you get.
And if you "copy" a sound (I'm playing in a coverrock band, I'm copying all the time.. and this job isn't easier than making own music, becaus the people know how it has to sound) you'll find things about this sound that don't fit your needs and you'll change it, and in the end again you have an own sound.
"Copying" means getting different influences. Sometime I ask myself if I'm copying JR, because I also play a K2500X without beeing the greatest sound designer round here (and that's what makes the K2x00 worth it), but this gives me a lot of inspiration and I can cope with the machine, so I seem to be able to use it. That's why I think I don't copy JR, because just copying means to do something without the ability to do it in the right way.
Just my 2 Cent...

my 2 cents:
I think that "imitating" some sounds can be good for praticing with programming but.. if you will stop there, you'll make a great mistake. Well, trying to have a personal taste, a sound that will be your signature, is a good checkpoint but require years of studing, skills improvements and patience. Also programming a synth isn't so simple. Using presets, then modify them and, finally, start from scratch are steps of a long path. No one are born with knowledge. We're all newbie at all.

im emotionally upset. :(
Er, in what other way could one be upset?
For what it's worth, I don't think all that much of Jens' lead sound... I guess if the sounds I use are an approximation of anything, they're some kind of bastard offspring of Rick Wakeman's and I&W era Kevin Moore... with a little bit of JR thrown in for good measure, but all tweaked to my own secret recipe :) I'm not really inspired too much by the sounds people use, it's the notes they play and the way they phrase stuff that gets me...
