Finally I'm gonna learn more about this beast.
I'm getting Beginner and Intermediate cdroms for K2600
(I'll just skip over the stuff about TMP for my K2500xs)

I definately need them because the many manuals I already have just leave me overwhelmed trying to learn vast/kdfx.

you snatch em off e-bay? I was gonna get them too. Let me know what they are like. I'd like to pick some up when i've gotten over my spending of late.

Yep, off eBay.
I'll report back once I've got them.

The original designer that did most of the work is legally selling them for $10 or the package I bought is $25 for 3 cdroms (PC/Mac OS9/OSX)

I'm getting K2600 Beginner, Intermediate and Midi studio.

They just arrived today. I haven't even put them in my cd drive yet as I just got in from work and I'm checking emails.

I will report back.

I just had a look at the first few topics on the K2600 Beginning cd-rom

It very clearly walks you through understanding the K2600 synth using audio/video and highlighting things like botton presses, sliders, softbuttons...

This beginning cd-rom has almost 100 topics and a fully searchable glossary.

For $25usd (not including shipping)I received the following 3 cd-roms:

The K2600 Beginning cd-rom
The K2600 Intermediate cd-rom
Digital home Studio
They usually sell for $89usd each

There was an intension of making the following Synth-Tek cd-roms:

K2600 Advanced
K2600 V.A.S.T.

Mark Riddle was instrumental in programming and creating these cd-roms but departed ways with Synth-Tek and sells these cd-roms ultra cheap on eBay, completely legal as per agreement of the desoluved business relationship. (To my understanding re:Kurzlist discussion)

I'm not sure if these final two installment cd-roms will be made available but they really should be as they go deeper.

I would say yes, especially at this low price. (He may only have limited quanities? I don't know)

The paper manuals never really helped me much but having audio video tutorials is like having a Kurzweil speciallist on your computer. (PC or Mac)

These are loaded with tips you just don't get elsewhere.

One trick I just learned was -
While in Q Access mode press the +/- button on the alphanumeric key pad and enter a number or use - + methods to select Q Access banks!

Cool huh?

Update:

After diving into these cdrom tutorials it's apparant the cdroms that were never completed or released were the ones really needed. Advanced & VAST.

Disappointing was that lack of depth covering KDFX, over and over mentions of how this and that will be covered in the upcoming never to be released cdroms.

For the $25 I paid for 3 cdroms it's cool but now I have to crack those massive manuals again in hopes of understanding getting out of the K2500 what I want.

In conclusion to my search/quest for comprehending this beasts complexity, these cdroms helped but only a little and they didn't even touch base with Funs or advanced KDFX programming. :x

Something I would love to understand is sending various drum samples of my k25 drum kit into different effects.
ie,
Snare = reverb
Rides/cymbals = chorus or light phase shifter
kicks - dry
rest of the kit through the aux stereo small room reverb

Seems easy enough right? Years later... :?:
