Haven't tried it yet because I'm at home but does anybody use it or has tried it? It seems like one of the most versatile way of creating sounds... you still need a computer to play the patches but at least sky is the limit!
Maybe I'm totally wrong with my post. I'm really a noob when it comes to synthesis itself or programming a keyboard (another good thing to learn in 2006!).

cSound is a programming language for sound creation and signal processing. Here's more: What Is cSound (http://www.csounds.com/whatis/index.html)
It's important to understand that it isn't a softsynth or anything like that - it does have some realtime capabilities, especially on faster machines, but mainly it's designed to render soundfiles from the code you create, so it is mainly non-realtime. It has enormous capabilities, but does require some prgramming knowledge and has a fairly steep learning curve, as I understand it.

Yeah we used that in a module at University last year. It has a very steep learning curve and you need to learn the programming language for it (or at least have a very good reference guide!) but it is very versatile.
It's not the sort of thing I'd ever consider using though because of the time it takes to actually create something.
