Just something I was pondering.

James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess have both recorded their solo albums on Magna Carta records, yet in 2001 there was that whole thing with Mike Portnoy and Magna Carta. I was just wondering why the other guys would choose a label that kinda screwed Mike over. Not saying anything bad, as I don't really know MC or anything. I was just wondering why, after Magna Carta "refused to allow him (Mike) to use his own music without paying them substancial royalties" JR and JLB would still trust Magna Carta.

If anyone has any info or thoughts, they'd be greatly appreciated.

JR and JLB still have contracts with MC

However, the whole Prime Cuts thing shows MC in a bad light so no surprise that they have lost artists

Well, for starters, the only major label that had supported one of
the premiere progressive rock bands that we all know
and love for over a decade. :-)

Well Derek Sherinian did get out of MC, and he had a 3 album contract. Where can I read this MP and MC thing?.
