Hey guys, I'm here in Australia and I really want to go see the best music shops. If any aussies here know of the best places that you go to to try out the best synths, please let me know! I'm particularly looking to try the Nord G2X and other analog and virtual analog synths such as the Access Virus products. So far I've been to a place called Turramurra music, and I tried the Nord Lead 3 and the Virus KC. But no Nord G2X...
I found a place in Sydney called Allans Music, but it was closed today... I'm going to Canberra for a day tomorrow to visit, and I found that there's a place called Better Music. The site is still under construction, so I don't know what they have.
Anyways, if any of you guys know of the best shops in the Sydney area, please let me know!
Thanks in advance.
Im in brisbane... so i have no idea what is available in sydney, but there should be alot more than what is available here.
Allans is okay... In big branch stores like that you can pretty much order whatever you want, and you're guaranteed to not get really screwed around... However the display stock at allans is generally limited to the big brands and models, eg. Korg triton, Yamaha Tyros, Roland Fantom, and... that's about it.
I dont know if they have a branch in sydney, but i stopped by a place called "Gospel Organs & Pianos" Here in brisbane, and i was amazed at the range of stock they have. I remember trying out a Nord of some sort there, but i dont remember what model.
Actually i just checked out the website... They have 2 branches in sydney. Worth ringing any store to see what they have in stock beforehand though.

Hmmm..Nord G2X?? That's a bit tough i think...
I don't think Allans stock Nord products.. i've never seen one..
Yesterday was still public holiday dude :) Try today... (it's closing by now hehehe). Marco is the guy to speak in Allans for keys... Average in here is a bit late to get new products.. i.e. Oasys still hasn't see the light of day in Sydney.
I've been into Drum City in Parramatta Rd as well, surprisingly they have a keyboard dept and it's pretty complete... might wanna try there

Thanks guys! I'll definitely be checking out those places. I'm not sure if I'll have time since I leave this sunday and friday and saturday my father has a BD-5 Expo in Sydney. Also, I tried out Allans, and yea, not much hard to find stuff there, just Korg and Roland and a crapload of acoustic pianos. But anyways, thanks for your replies.

Allans Music yes...
Billy Hydes (the Blackburn store is probably the best... Flemington is okay)
Troy Music is alright...
Keyboard Corner isn't too bad either...
I'd probably stick to Billy Hydes though.

Wow, haven't seen you around here for a while, hehe. I thought maybe this thread would catch your attention.
But yes, I was told of Billy Hydes at Allans. I might go there tomorrow. Thanks for the replies!
