Hello to all of you in the boards,
for curing my vintage equipment fix, i just got an DX7s horribly cheap(and probably horribly maintained). the tradeoff is that its cosmetic conditions were far from good. i already cleaned most of its dust and covered some scratches, but the keys got an slightly yellow appearance due to age(like the color of old computers). does any of you know about any cleaning product to restore the appearance of my DX7s keys? something that would turn them white again? if so, i would greatly appreciate.
thanks for your time,
Gustavo.

Just soak the whole thing in bleach. That should work. OR, switch to crest whitening!

LOL...
i wonder if you could paint them? orrr
what if you tried geting some really fine sandpaper and trying to just take a thin layer of the surface off...those keys are plastic, so they're probably white all the way through
however, test it on a small part of a key to make sure it does drastically change the feel of the keys....
other than that, i can't think of anything right now

Call Yamaha and get a new or relatively new, barely used
body and have a technician perform the replacement.

a little conversation quote:(note i am not on united states)
"yamaha support: yamaha product support, good day.
me: hello, i would like to know if i can have a keys and keybed
replacement for the yamaha DX7.
yamaha suport: is it a motorbike?
me: nevermind. g'bye."
anyway, i am trying almost any cleaning products and as long as the keys don't melt off, i will keep on trying. some almost worked, but the situation is really terrible(cosmetically speaking). but i'm planning on letting this go and start gigging.
