Merry Christmas everyone! I have a question regarding the MotifES rack and
the Alesis QSR. I'm sort of a newbe in this dept., well honestly, a guitarist
really so that means I could use a little help!
I have been sequencing keys w/ a Roland MC50 mk II sequencer and an Alesis QS6
and decided to upgrade to a Motif ES rack. I've had the "Mo" for a while now, and it's
great, but I found myself missing certain things the Alesis did, so I got the QSR on
ebay. So now I want to use the "mo" and the QSR together. What is the best way
to get these 2 working together from the Roland sequencer and not have any
midi mishaps? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!

Assuming there's only one MIDI OUT on the MC50:

SEQUENCER midi out ---> midi in MOTIF RACK

MOTIF RACK midi thru ---> midi in ALESIS QSR

You'll have 16 midi channels available on the Sequencer, so make sure to disable -on each synth- the midi channels sent to the other one.

Example: if you use the drums (channel 10) of the Motif, disable the channel 10 of the QSR.

If you use a piano on channel 1 for the QSR, disable the channel 1 of the Motif.

If you want to layer the Motif and the QSR, you can use the same midi channel, but then you'll have some problem if you send a program change on that midi channel.
