Luckily I haven't cracked and bought anything new (yet). It's a good thing I don't have more money, because if I did, it would all probably be gone right now.

heh, you're lucky... It's end of year bonus time at work and I find myself on ebay looking for all sorts of interesting circuit bent casio keyboards and speak and spells just because the beeps and boops they make are cool.

Speaking of Ebay, on my analog quest I came across a cheap Prophet...like $120. Then I check out the Q&A section just to find out that the guy who is selling it is either a joke seller or actually owns the keyboard but is out of his fucking mind. I would have to share a similar affliction if I were to even consider buying from someone like this. It's disappointing though. =/

Q: 100% functional? Any scratchy pods? How is the tuning? Keypads? LCD? How do you plan on packaging this classic? THX

A: Hi there and thank you for checking out my ebay auction item. It works 100% and I think you will love it! I get pretty excited when I think about all the possible sounds it can make. The tooth really makes a nice string and the triangle I like a lot. Good organs. I thought about how 2 triangles make a diamond and a square wave resembles a horseshoe. It's a lot like lucky charms serial. Leprechauns running around everywhere. The synthesizer really does the job. I started out needing some money and ebay helped me buy a turkey for thanksgiving and I would like to thank the ebay community. I think that everyone should have a safe holiday season. I like to watch movies and for Christmas I am going to watch a movie. I like to play my guitar. The prophet I like. It has a sound all it's own. I ship it very carefully so that it arrives in EXCELLENT SHAPE. I use extra large bubble wrap ! ! ! I want to do a good job and I like ebay. I want to do a good job on my ebay auction item so that my buyer is satisfied. I think whoever buys my item is going to like it because I like it and It plays 100% It looks fantastic. I think its worth almost a million dollars in value. The maker of this synthesizer is out of business and they made really good items. My item is a really good item and I hope if you are wondering just how great this synthesizer is that you will trust me that it is vintage and really nice. Which Prophet ? I used to own a 600 and it's not nearly as nice as a 5.
Also couldn't keep it in tune....that was the reason I sold it.
Had to keep hitting the "tune" button during gigs. That was back in 1987....

It was the 600. There's a plethora of analogs I'm looking at right now and that's one of the bottom few...it was just such a nice price for an old analog. ;)


Several more tasty deals I'm looking at right now though.
