K2661 will only be available in the small version. There will be no other keyboard versions!

It's currently the FLAGSHIP of the K2XX line.
It sounds awesome and when I have it side by side
with the K2600XS in a comparison test, you can tell
the difference in the new 24 bit processing. Maybe
you could pick it up anyway and midi it up to an 88
key midi controller of your choice and have the 2661
in close proximity so you would have access to all
its hardware controller features.

I've always been playing on 61 unweighted keys, so I'd take the K2661 if I could afford it in front of the others :D
It's sad that they don't make a 88 keys version, anyway it's seems to be too awesome.. how much will it coast??? it's the k2600x still in production??'

Yes it is still very much in production. :D

I've noticed that the ribbon controller is optional, is it true?? will it coast a lot more??

No man! On a k2500 or k2600 it comes basic. On other synths, even NOT kurz, a ribbon can be attached, if you have space on your board at least. As long as there is MIDI. Because the Ribbon sends MIDI messages, therefore you can program it to do whatever you want! Crossfades, volume, and all kinds of effect, ofcourse also pitch bending.
Now, if you want to purchase a Ribbon, which is called an ''Expression Mate'', you are too late. No longer in production. But there is a good chance you'll find yourself a good deal on Ebay or so.
That sucks a lot, I was looking at it, and was like "AGH NO 88 KEYS!" ... for me having full use of the keyboard spectrum is a must...I've never known anything less than 88 keys...if I had the money for a K2661 tho, I'd manage ;)
no, in the k2661 the ribbon is optional, if I'm not wrong... I've read it somewhere, anyway I can't see why they haven't put the ribbon on the K2661: it's such a cool stuff, and see the fact that it should be the "newer" version of the K2660...
k2661 or triton extreme or v-synth???????????????????? what's the better one???

do you think so??? maybe me too, but new roland V-synth seemed me so amazing, it seems that it can create new sounds and that "time trip pad"... JR has got it, isn'it???
BUT kurzweil seems to have more features...
Anyway I have to think about it, they're such expensive stuff!!!

You have to figure out what you want! They're all great, but other features.

I'll give you 500€ for the V-Synth, SAM, so you can try to get a Kurzweil for that money

Sam,
The Kurz has superior all-around sounds, unbelieveble
programming capabilities, a great sequencer and as a rompler
can be the centerpiece, do-it-all workstation for your
composing endeavors.
The V-Synth is also a piece I've had my eye on and ironically
was discussing with a buddy of mine out in California.
It CAN sample and play just like a conventional rompler but
at 24 notes of polyphony and midi implementation that is
somewhat crippled (only can transmit on one midi channel)
and the act of doing keyboard splits and multi zones ummm...
rather cumbersome.
Where the V-Synth excels is in loop based music.
You can assign loops to any key and process the loops
using the onboard envelops, filters and even scan forward
and backwards using the time trip pad. A program called
Ableton Live 3.0 does this too and it's amazing.
In a demo I saw, one single vocal line was sampled into the
V-Synth and the clinician played back a harmony part a
third below and above the melody on the keyboard.
The harmonies I heard sounded VERY realistic and all
throughout the sample tempo and pitch were all alligned
perfectly.
The board is more of a studio or sound designers tool the way
I see it. Whatever you sample can be manipulated and changed
however you want. You can get as goofy and warped and
create new fresh sounds with the greatest of ease. I wish you could
stick more RAM in there than the 50 Meg or so included but the ability
to shuttle samples to and from your computer via USB
is convenient.
Prices have come down on this piece.
If you have time, check it out for yourself.
It is amazing.

Thanks Frank, you answered me some question I had..
Anyway I think that before buying whatever key I've got to earn some money, and see that I'm only a student it requires so much time
So, I gotta wait, be patient, and continue to dream...
SE YA, SAM

Continue the dream, and rely on your parents! They will pay an k2600CS entirely, Used but still. All this when I get my D degree, which is the highest degree in basic Music education.
