I use the footswitch to scroll forward . There is a small cutoff break in sound when switching preset and although small, is still too long. If there is a trick to make the preset switch SEAMLESS or quicker, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share it!! Thats one of my very few gripes about this board (and my motif). I had someone say they think there's a way to do it in the settings volumes post replys and now Im really wanting to find out. I didnt think that there was. Oh... I have devoured my manual and cant find anything about it there either. Please help if u have some info. Maybe its just a Fantasy.

If such thing is true, I'll eternally love the one that tells me how to solve that...

The reason that the sound cuts off abruptly is that when you change voices, performances or master setups, the instrument must reset its effects processing for the newly selected voice, performance or mix. In order to do this and not have any weird artifacts, it flushes any notes which are currently sounding.

You can avoid this abrupt cutoff by setting up a song or pattern mix with the voices you wish to switch seamlessly between and then simply selecting a new part in the mix (by pressing the appropriately numbered button ([1] - [16]). Any notes being played when the part number is changed will decay naturally rather than being abruptly cut-off. See Avery Burdette's tip from the Clinician's Corner for more information.

One unfortunate limitation of this method is that you cannot use a foot switch to increment through the parts of a mix (but must rather push the appropriate numbered button on the front of the keyboard. Also, don't forget that your Motif ES has (only!) 8 dual insertion effects processors, so if you decide to use this method for seamlessly changing voices, only 8 parts can have dual insertion effects applied to them.
