Are you using your synth's onboard FX processors
or do you use external units?
Since my Moog Voyager does not come with FX built-in,
I employ the services of my K2600RS's KDFX in live mode.
It sounds awesome.

On-board stuff on the Roland. I run an Alesis MidiverbIII on the fx bus of the mixer for everything else. Sonar stuff when recording, I prefer to add the fx in afterwards.

On my S90, I use onboard effects. On my Ion, I tend not to. The chorus, phaser, and flanger are pretty good, by the distortions are terrible, and there is also no delay or reverb. I've experimented with running it into my S90, but it didn't work very well; whenever I wanted to get some massive distortion, it was incredibly noisy. I've been looking at external FX processors lately, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a unit in the $500 (new) range. Is the Kurzweil Mangler any good?

In addition to the regular on-board effects on my JP8000 and Fantom, I also have a Mutronics phaser which I love dearly, and a Bond chorus pedal... and I'm this close to getting a Morley JD10 distortion pedal...

I use IKM Amplitube Guitar Modler plugin and a lot of the built in FX from Emagic Logic and Reason 2.5...

Alesis Microverb 4 for reverb and delay... onboard effects on the synths for the patches I have 'em turned on... Behringer Composer for compression... Marshall guitar amp for distortion... whole load of plugins in Sonar (Lexicon reverb, Hyperprism dynamics, Waves stuff, etc), and if I want anything *really* weird, my mate's Digitech GSP21 Pro :)

On board Roland effects for my main synth XV88. For my Juno I use a Kaoss Pad KP1. Its ok the distortion on it isnt all that, on the other hand I've only used the Juno for 1 live show.

Onboard stuff mostly, though I've tried a few of my leads through the distortion on my cheap little guitar amp and they turned out kinda cool. I'm planning on getting a wah pedal sometime soon for my leads as well.

Mainly the Korg Triton's internal FX (i have an OB3 running through the Triton's leslie, and sometimes use an Yamaha SK10 through the Triton's FX). I really like the warm ambience delays and reverbs from the Triton.
In recording i use the VintageWarmer alot, just to give analog-like sounds more punch and warmth...

Rutger
