I've got a wonderful marantz power amp with to big speakers that my father used to listen to music, now he gave it to me. the question is: can I attach my keys on it, to amplify them, or it's better not to do it???

somebody can tell me, if it is possible, the way that I have to amplify my keys with these stuff I have???

Is it possible?? or will I destroy everythink??

will the quality of the sound be good?

do I need a mixer?? ( some advice of cheap but good ones...).

I'm so ignorant in this field of music..
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! SAM

You wouldn´t destroy anything! Neither your keyboard, amp or speakers.

In fact I run all my keys through a regular stereo amp here at home (but through a mixer). The easiest way to connect it is by using a regular RCA cable (the kind with the red and black (or white) connectors that is used to connect i.e. a cd player to the amp) and get a couple of RCA to 1/4" tele adaptors to attach to your keyboards output(s). Your music store should have those in store.

Just use common sense and start out with your keyboard volume all way down and bring it up to a good level. Good luck!

do I have to use the "AUX" input on my amp????
it's better to use a mixer or it's not necessary??

You don't need a mixer if you want to connect only one instrument.
And for the input: Try AUX and then Phones, if AUX doesn't work. You can try everything, because you simply CANNOT destroy anything ;)

If AUX doesn´t work the amp is broken!
